International Children Imagine Peace 2013 

Peace Is project..... pre k 3 & 4

Deep gratitude to Ms. Katie Colby, who was my partner teacher in 2013. When I brought to her that I was founding International Children's Month, she stepped up immediately when she heard the theme and the concept for the launch year. We read books on peace, we sang songs about peace, we made peace in all our art. You will notice in the above front cover image that the peace sign is made out of little hands. Rainbow hands. What a fun activity for the children! To create hands of peace, an earth, a peace sign, and then a book out of their feelings on peace. We asked each child, What is Peace to you? and then we wrote down their answers. Then we helped them to set up their favorite color paper, and then to create a picture made out of their favorite colors of what peace is to them. The result is each unique slide, which we made into a keepsake book for the end of our year together. International Children Imagine Peace was a magical year. Teaching peace is priceless.
