Integrating I to We:
Let us begin with a solution.
And work backwards from there.
Each of us come up with a solution that is just and fair.
Something that includes all and just shares the love.
Hold that imagining, vision, in our hearts, and feel what it feels like for it to be true.
And then we will be love in action in all that we do.
This is a year for building, for love to flourish all. We are so interdependently connected, the hurt of one is the hurt of all.
So let's realize the potential of our humanity. As we choose to come together to form the mighty WE.

INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN LOVE WE-BUILDING A WORLD THAT WORKS FOR ALL PLATFORM 2021 FEATURED EVENTS:
The MLK (Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.) Weekend of Service (January 15 – 18), Day of Service (January 18), and MLK 40 Days of Peace (through February 28) exists to empower individuals, strengthen communities, bridge barriers, address social challenges, and move us closer to Dr. King’s vision of a “Beloved Community” where love and trust will triumph over fear and hatred.
SOVEREIGNTY and interconnectedness
When we love ourselves, we are full, and have the strength and vitality to support others. Humans are exceptionally empathic people naturally. We feel others very deeply. So how do we remain compassionate, and caring for others and what they are going through, and still maintain our own way of being? It's called sovereignty. It means that our love governs us, and that we appreciate that part of ourselves enough to realize if we are healthy, happy, fulfilled, and in our purpose or mission, we can be of best service to our loved ones and our communities.
Learning from our ancestors and elders
Remembering John Lewis, 1940-2020
”You are a light. You are the light. Never let anyone—any person or any force—dampen, dim or diminish your light. Study the path of others to make your way easier and more abundant. Lean toward the whispers of your own heart, discover the universal truth, and follow its dictates. […] Release the need to hate, to harbor division, and the enticement of revenge. Release all bitterness. Hold only love, only peace in your heart, knowing that the battle of good to overcome evil is already won. Choose confrontation wisely, but when it is your time don't be afraid to stand up, speak up, and speak out against injustice. And if you follow your truth down the road to peace and the affirmation of love, if you shine like a beacon for all to see, then the poetry of all the great dreamers and philosophers is yours to manifest in a nation, a world community, and a beloved community that is finally at peace with itself.“

Being really heard
How do we really listen?
Active and Supportive Listening: The in's and the out's the art of listening:
Consider and Try This!
1: Receiving and listening with the heart.
2: Eyes on the person.
3:Actively putting our attention on the person speaking.
4:Don't interrupt.
5:Respect. Acknowledge. Wait for completion, and then respond.
6:Do not formulate what you will say while someone is speaking.
7:Refrain from judging, just let people be themselves.
8:Nod, smile and stay involved in the conversation with the person speaking.

WE and International Children's Month are Celebrating and Activating for the MLK 40 Days of Peace
Bringing forward our campaign from last year the #WEMatch is all about celebrating our uniqueness, our diversity and our unity. In love, care and respect we take our pictures of the things we are in solidarity with, be it LGBTQ+, Black Lives Matter, Beautiful Pets, The young or the Elderly, we are flooding the social networks with our love and pride in each other. "For we shall not be known by the color of our skin, but by the content of our character." MLK in love and gratitude for 2021.

THIS IS ZERO HOUR: OUR VISIONgh is enough. We, the youth, believe that #thisisZeroHour to act on climate change. We cannot afford to wait any longer for adults to protect our right to the clean and safe environment, the natural resources we need to not just survive, but flourish. We know that we are the leaders we have been waiting for!
We believe that every individual, from every community should have access to clean air, water, and public lands. We believe in putting the needs and health of our communities before corporate gain.
We believe that the leadership of youth in this space is essential since we have inherited a crisis that we had no hand in creating. We will strive to hold our adults and elected officials accountable for their legacy of destruction and inaction when it comes climate change. We believe in a solutions-based approach that addresses the real needs of our communities.
While climate change is a phenomenon that will impact all of us —if it has not already—we believe that the impact of the climate crisis is profoundly unequal. Frontline communities across the globe and within the United States have been directly impacted by climate change to a degree greater than others. We believe, however, that those closest to the problem are also often closest to the solution. These communities have been actively working to create just solutions and transitions. Our goal is to center the unique wisdom, experience, and leadership of these communities in our efforts to make impactful change.
We also recognize that a movement for climate and environmental justice cannot be successful without building meaningful coalitions and cross-sector alignment with other movements for social justice. We believe in harnessing the power of youth-led organizing and leadership by youth from different backgrounds and experiences in forging our path towards a more equitable and safe future for all of us.

The need for resilient and adaptive individuals for rapidly changing environments is becoming increasingly important. Recent research has demonstrated that students need to be “socially aware” and “emotionally-connected” in order to learn effectively and for societies to flourish. Social and emotional learning is key to building both emotional and intellectual intelligence in learners and can also play a pivotal role in achieving peaceful and sustainable societies. In the tenth issue of The Blue Dot, read expert perspectives and youth voices on social and emotional learning and the importance of introducing these skills in our education systems.
